Getting Ready for the Garden and Art Studio Tour

Every fall and spring I open my studio for a tour of my studio and gardens. For the last few years I’ve raised money with a suggested $10 admission for our local Escondido Humane Society. Last April we raised $1500!

The first thing I get working on as soon as it cools off is to spruce up the garden. I’ve been putting in some long hours up top replanting and making some new succulent beds. I need to make it as drought tolerant as possible so I’m combining drought tolerant leafy flowers and shrubs with succulents and cactus.

The garden has been featured  in San Diego Home and Garden magazine some newspaper articles and has been on several Garden Home tours like the San Diego Horticultural Society.

I’m doing some paintings of the Agave in the garden so working in the garden is a big inspiration for my work.

The Tour is November 30 and December 1 2013 in Escondido CA. If you are in the area visit my site for directions and come by!
